It was announced earlier this year that All-Stars competition will be hosted in the end of the year and will feature only the fan favourites, whereas the winners of the regional Spring splits will compete against each other separately in May.

Today Riot Games announced the details of 2015 Mid-Season Invitational. The event is hosted in Tallahassee, Florida, on May 7-10, 2015. The tournament features 6 teams: 5 winners of the Spring splits in LCS EU, LCS NA, LCS, LPL, LMS, as well as the winner of the International Wild Card Invitational. IWCI will be hosted one month prior to MSI in Istanbul, Turkey.

On May 7-8 teams compete in a BO1 Round Robin group stage. Four best teams qualify for single-elimination BO5 playoffs. This tournament has no implications for Worlds and the prize pool is yet to be announced. Last year SKT T1 K reigned supreme at this event and won $50,000.

Jordan "Leviathan" Thwaites on MSI:
"MSI is another international tournament, and we can't get enough tournaments that feature teams from all regions. We will do our best to qualify and try to represent EU at this event! Even though it has no implications for Season 5 Worlds, it will feature the strongest teams from each region at that point of time and will thus provide us with indication of how well the best team from our region can do at Worlds. It's a great learning experience and a chance to meet fans on the East Coast, that is usually misrepresented as a place to host competitions."
