Trip to Germany for Acer Predator Masters 3 turned out to be successful for our squad: our new line-up won its first tournament. Zeus and co demonstrated beautiful and confident play. Let’s recap the most memorable moments!
The most difficult match and the only loss
The first day of the tournament presented us with a challenging schedule: we had a 12-hour break between our matches against Fnatic Academy and Rogue! AdreN admitted in a post-final interview that our most complicated match was against the latter one. Danish-Bulgarian quintet defeated us on Nuke - the only map we dropped at this tournament. Interestingly, Swedes managed to score only one round against us on Overpass, whereas it took us two overtimes to overcome Rogue on this map.
Facing Poland’s Top 2 team
While Rogue was our most challenging opponent, we had to face the Poles from Kinguin twice on our way to a championship title, including the Grand Final. While they beat Rogue to advance to this stage, our own encounter turned out to be one-sided: 2:0 and 3:0 in the Upper Bracket Final and the Grand Final respectively.
Victory despite the difficulties
Our team was presented with multiple obstacles, such as scheduling, technical difficulties with HObbit’s PC and a complicated tournament bracket comprised exclusively of teams that finished top 4 at this event. Gambit CS:GO played well on an individual and team level. Our guys demonstrated several well-thought-out and executed tactics, good defence on Dust 2 and attack on Cobblestone. Their individual play was highlighted as three of our players, Dosia, mou and Zeus, managed to get an ACE. It’s pleasant to see progress in our play. Pistol round were one of our main issues at ESWC as we lost 70% of them, whereas this tournament guys showed that they did their homework - loss rate of pistol round reduced to 56%.
It is the first cup in the trophy case of our new line-up. We would like to congratulate our team with winning Predator Masters and hope to see more new victories!
