Today we played in an opening match of the day: they should have begun their fight against Polish team PRIDE at 9:00 local time, but due to delays games began later than scheduled.

 Gambit [2:1] Pride | 16:4 @ de_train; 13:16 de_mirage; 19:16 @ de_dust2

The series began with quite a convincing victory: mou controlled Train with confidence throughout the whole game. However, after that Gambit had some hard time fighting the Polish squad. We were just a step away from victory, but experienced a defeat with a record of 13:16 on Mirage. Dust2 at first also went not so well: it’s difficult to win rounds when you’re losing 0:7, but Gambit used the pause effectively and won 8 rounds in a row after it. Our team’s performance on T side wasn’t the best this match, that’s why the fight continued in overtime. During the overtime we managed to get this difficult victory, winning 19:16 and advancing to quarterfinals to meet Space Soldiers.

 Space Soldiers [2:1]  Gambit | 16:4 @ de_train; 4:16 @ de_cbble; 16:5 @ de_dust2

The match against the Turkish team wasn’t an easy one. Not only our guys were losing the first half of the first and third maps with a 4:11 score, but in addition to that there were troubles with the broadcast: Internet at the tournament went down, and games were launched locally. And it was hard to oppose Space Soldiers, who put up quite a crazy swing with their games. The teamplay wasn’t the best, but Gambit managed to show up and win on the map chosen by the enemies. On Cobblestone HObbit and AdreN performed quite good, our aimers had 20 frags each on this map. However, the third map was won by Space Soldiers, and it is them who will continue to fight for the ESWC 2016 cup.

That’s what mou, the sniper of our team, and Zeus, our captain, said about the committed mistakes and the organization of the tournament.

"We should train our pistol and anti-eco rounds… Anyway, I wish good luck to Space Soldiers. XANTARES, just win the whole tournament!" - Rustem Telepov

"We lost nearly 80% of all pistol rounds at the tournament, so we should work on that. Don’t count it as an excuse, but ESWC should probably get some better computers. 100-150 FPS is not ok." - Daniil Teslenko

We would like to remind you that on October 31 our team will go to from France to Germany for a boot camp, where they will work on their mistakes and prepare for Predator Masters, which will take place in Krefeld on November 3 - 6.
