Gambit CS:GO lost to  Renegades in group B winners match with the score 8:16 and will have to fight for a chance to advance to playoffs on Friday.

Our opponent surprisingly overcame one of the favorites of the tournament Cloud9 in an opening match. The fate of the first place in group B was decided on Cache, one of the maps we lost on to iGame in WCA 2016 EU Qualifier.

Our opponents proved from the get-go that their recent results, including a victory over Cloud9, are not coincidental. Our quintet was not prepared to play Cache and managed to comeback into the game only when the score was 2:8 - we took four rounds in a row. Regardless, losing the second pistol round put us under an immense pressure, when a single mistake could cost us the game. Renegades did not falter and capitalized on their lead to close out the game.

This victory allowed  Renegades to advance to playoffs with the first place finish in our group, whereas Gambit CS:GO will have to defeat the winner of Cloud9 vs  Optic on Friday at 21:00 CET to resume its run at DreamHack Winter 2016.
