The organizers of the American tournament ELEAGUE will host the next Major - the 10th in the history of CS:GO - that will take place at the end of January, 2017. According to Lenny Daniels, President of Turner Sports, it is a successful debut of ELEAGUE that allowed them to get a right to host one of the most prestigious CS:GO events.
ELEAGUE Major 2017 will be held on January 22-29, in Atlanta, USA. The group stage matches will be played on January 22-25 at ELEAGUE Arena, and playoffs at Fox Theatre.
The number of the participants (16 teams, 8 of them "Legends") and the prize pool of $1,000,000 stayed the same. However, the Grand Final will be broadcast live on TBS, which is a significant difference from the previous ESL One Cologne Major.
At the moment there are 8 teams that will undoubtedly take part in the tournament:
Gambit, Natus Vincere, FlipSid3,
SK,
Liquid,
GODSENT,
Virtus.pro and
Astralis.
The names of the other 8 participants will be determined after the qualifiers, which will be held on December 15-18 in Atlanta, USA.
We would like to remind you that at the previous Major tournament our team for the first time in its history secured a "Legendary" status.
