ELEAGUE Major 2017: Changes in the format

As the organizers have announced, the group stage of the next Major tournament will be held under the new system, so called "Swiss-system". Such a format was first used in CS:GO at the time of
ESL One Cologne Main Qualifier, however it has never been used in the most important tournaments yet.
Then to advance to the next stage the teams needed to win three matches. The tournament consisted of 5 rounds. The teams went on playing unless they got the third victory (qualified for Major) or got the third defeat (eliminated). The first round was held according to seeding. Then the squads went on to fight with an random opponent, who had the same ratio of victories and defeats.
Let us recall that Gambit CS:GO team has already had successful experience using "Swiss-system", our squad won ESL One Cologne qualifier, having overplayed
OpTic Gaming,
Team ENVYUS and
G2 Esports.
