Our team's departure to Sweden to participate in the DreamHack Winter 2016 tournament was not without surprises.

Originally the team had to fly Lufthansa flight on Wednesday from Kiev to Gothenburg with the change in Frankfurt. However due to the suddenly occurred pilots' strike the company needed to cancel 876 flights. Among the victims there were our players as well.

Famous commentators Jason "moses" O'Toole and Janko "YNk" Paunovic suffered the same problem, so they were forced to find another way of getting from San Francisco to Jönköping.

The employees of the company were ready to compensate for these inconveniences, having offered the flight to Sweden on Thursday. However such a scenario didn't satisfy Gambit Esports. Departure on Thursday morning meant that our players would not only arrive on the first day of the tournament, but also would not be able to get enough sleep. Moreover, the trip from Kiev to Jönköping presumes the flight from Kiev to Frankfurt, from Frankfurt to Gothenburg and only then they will get to Jönköping by train. Tired gamers would play their first match with  OpTic Gaming at 6 pm by local time and in case of their victory they would fight the same to advance to playoffs.

The management of Gambit CS:GO did their best to solve the situation operatively and to buy the Wednesday tickets of another airline for the team, and as we can see from the photos of our players, it was successfully done.

As it turned out the decision to use the services of another company was right as according to commentator Leigh "Deman" Smith the strike will continue on Thursday as well.
